We’re recruiting for a small, close-knit team on the outskirts of Manchester City Centre. This is an office where everyone plays their part — and where your contribution will truly matter. They are looking for a proactive, organised and personable Office Administrator to join them on a 12-month contract to cover for maternity leave.
This is a varied, hands-on position where you’ll support the smooth running of the office and work closely with colleagues across admin, sales and finance. Your day to day responsibilities could include a range of tasks including:
- Sales order processing
- Generating/transposing invoices
- Coordinating deliveries and shipments
- Monitoring office supplies
- Managing correspondence (email, phone, post)
- Keeping the office environment organised and welcoming
- Preparing meeting rooms and shared spaces
The Manchester office is a small (8-person) subsidiary of a global scientific organisation and working within a team of 2 you’ll be supporting back-office functions. Being a strong team player is essential and they are looking for an individual who enjoys the dynamics of a small team environment.
They are looking for a candidate with the following skills and experiences:
- Accounts/finance/book-keeping (ideally having used Sage)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills as there will be some correspondence with clients, suppliers and global colleagues
- Good IT skills (MS Office suite, databases, ERP systems)
- Previous B2B office administration skills
- Accomplished data entry skills – good attention and a methodical and accurate worker
- A quick learner and somebody who is keen to learn and develop their skills
- Adaptable; understands the needs of a small business and small team will mean helping out in lots of different areas
- Reliable, personable and somebody who takes pride in their work
