We are seeking a calm, resilient, and dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Bolton. The role involves working closely with pupils who display challenging behaviour, SEMH needs, or additional learning needs, providing consistent support to help them engage positively with learning.
This is a rewarding role for someone who is passionate about supporting pupils' emotional and behavioural development.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small-group behaviour support
Support pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
Implement behaviour plans and strategies set by the SENCO or leadership team
De-escalate challenging situations calmly and effectively
Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
Support learning both in and out of the classroom
Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and pastoral teams
Requirements:
Experience working with children with SEMH or behavioural needs (school or care setting preferred)
Calm, patient, and consistent approach
Strong behaviour management and communication skills
Ability to remain resilient in challenging situations
Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare
