School Finance Assistant
Start: March 2026
Contract: Full-time and temporary (possibility to go permanent)
Salary: £140.00 - £180.00 per day depending on qualifications and experience

Responsibilities
Provide effective support for financial and administrative functions within a secondary school
Ensure financial records and processes are accurate, well-maintained, and compliant with internal requirements
Assist with budget tracking and expenditure monitoring to support informed decision-making
Contribute to the maintenance and development of sound financial procedures and controls
Work closely with colleagues across different teams to support operational priorities
Prepare and share clear, reliable financial information as required
Manage workloads efficiently, demonstrating strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and ways of working
Act professionally at all times, supporting safeguarding, equality, and organisational valuesRequirements
Experience of working in a finance, accounts, or administrative role (or a strong willingness to develop in this area)
Good numeracy skills with the ability to maintain accurate financial records
High level of attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Confident user of IT systems, including spreadsheets and finance or data management software
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Professional, reliable, and accountable approach to work
Willingness to follow policies and procedures, including safeguarding and equality requirements
