Trainee / Assistant Estimator Required in Essex

GVR Solutions are currently working alongside a well-established fit-out and refurbishment contractor who are looking for a Trainee / Assistant Estimator to join their growing team.

This opportunity will suit someone who has either recently graduated, or someone who has 1-2 years of relevant experience and is looking to pursue their career in Estimating.

Responsibilities of the Trainee / Assistant Estimator:

Collation & review of tender documents to gain a solid project understanding
Measurement of technical drawings using both CAD & traditional measurement methods
Working amongst the wider team to obtain job specific market rates for materials
Liaison with business partners and subcontractors to obtain site specific quotations
Establishing new and building existing relationships with clients / contractors / suppliers
Coordinate site visits with team members to understand project logistics / constraints
Creation & preparation of bills of quantities / schedules of rates for submission to clients
Presentation of tenders for adjudication with senior management team
Attending meetings with clients to discuss projects / tenders & negotiate contract sums

The Trainee / Assistant Estimator must have/be:

Have previous construction experience or have completed construction-based education
Keen to develop skills (training will be offered if required)
Self-motivated and driven to succeed
Possess good time management skills and be comfortable working to deadlines
Work well within a team, but also be happy working individually
Comfortable using all Microsoft applications and have robust IT literacy
Keen to learn how to be a great communicator
Have experience with estimating software
