Plant Maintenance Technician

Travis Talent is recruiting on behalf of a Sheffield based client for a Plant Maintenance Technician. You’ll service and maintain a fleet of cranes and associated equipment, helping ensure each crane is safe, reliable and ready for use.
What you’ll do

Carry out planned mechanical maintenance and servicing.

Diagnose faults using manufacturer guidance, replace unserviceable parts and undertake wire rope changes.

Prepare cranes and accessories for use, including brackets and anti-climbs.

Complete work reports and work closely with the workshop team to maintain high safety and quality standards.

Support and mentor other fitters and apprentices where appropriate.
The work may involve working at height.
What we’re looking for
You’ll have a strong mechanical maintenance background, ideally with an NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Maintenance, Plant Mechanics or an equivalent qualification. Experience inspecting plant machinery and working safely at height would be valuable. Manufacturer training, rescue at height, hydraulic training or a CPCS Slinger Signaller qualification would also be useful.
