1:1 SEN Support Teaching Assistant – Long-Term Position
We are currently recruiting for a 1:1 SEN Support Teaching Assistant to work in a long-term role within a school setting. This position involves supporting a pupil with Special Educational Needs on a consistent, daily basis, helping them to access learning and develop both academically and socially.
This is a long-term opportunity within one school, providing stability and the chance to build a strong, supportive relationship with the pupil and staff team. It is well suited to someone who is patient, reliable, and committed to supporting children with additional needs.
Role responsibilities include:
Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with SEN throughout the school day
Supporting the delivery of lessons and adapting tasks to meet the pupil’s individual needs
Assisting with the pupil’s social, emotional, and behavioural development
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow support plans
Implementing strategies outlined in EHCPs where applicable
Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
Helping to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environmentThe ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (such as ASD, ADHD, or SEMH)
A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
A flexible and proactive attitude
