About the Role
Long Term Futures is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) for a welcoming Primary School in Nottingham (NG5). This role will involve working closely on a 1:1 basis with a pupil, supporting their learning, behaviour, and engagement throughout the school day. You will work alongside the class teacher, helping to deliver lessons and support pupils across the KS1 and KS2 curriculum, including core subjects such as English, Maths, and Phonics, as well as foundation subjects. The school has a strong focus on supporting pupils with SEN, so you will play a key role in adapting learning and providing additional support to ensure all children can access the curriculum.
What You'll Be Doing
Providing 1:1 support to a pupil, helping them access learning and stay engaged
This is a varied role that also includes supporting during lunchtimes and after-school clubs, making it ideal for someone who enjoys being fully involved in school life.
Supporting the class teacher with lesson delivery across the KS1 and KS2 curriculum
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be adapting activities to meet the needs of pupils with SEN
Helping to develop pupils' confidence, independence, and social skills
Supporting behaviour and encouraging positive routines
Supporting and helping run after-school clubs and activities
Working collaboratively with staff to support pupil progress and wellbeingWhat We're Looking For
Experience working with children in a Primary or SEN setting as an LSA.
A calm, patient, and proactive approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
Relevant qualifications (Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable but not essential
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply) About You
Fully compliant, including a DBS on the update system and two professional references
Experience supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or within a classroom
Strong behaviour management and emotional resilience
Enthusiastic, adaptable, and reliable
Passionate about supporting children to achieve their full potential
