Chichester College Group have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Hospitality Assistant at our Chichester College campus. You will join us on part time, permanent basis. In return, we will offer a competitive salary pro rata of £25,949 per annum (i.e. £18,288.38).
30 hours per week, 38 working weeks per year.
The Hospitality Assistant role:
As our Hospitality Assistant, you will support our students and staff in the training restaurants and kitchens in the College. Our student training restaurants are open to the public, with Café 19 which offers breakfasts, homemade soup, freshly baked cakes and pastries and more, and the fully licensed 64 Restaurant and Bar which offers a seasonal a la carte menu.
As our Hospitality Assistant you will maintain the kitchen environment to a high level of cleanliness and support safe working practices. You will maintain food safety records, assist with ordering kitchen stock and keeping all areas hygienic and safe.
Previous hospitality experience is essential and knowledge of food hygiene would advantageous. Our Hospitality Assistant will enjoy working in a training environment, where a supportive attitude will be required for all of the students.
Key Responsibilities of our Hospitality Assistant:
To support Lecturers and students in a practical hospitality environment.
To ensure the cleanliness, quality standards and safety of the work area.
To ensure that the teaching environment in designated areas of the Hospitality section are prepared and maintained to a high standard to meet the HSAW and hygiene requirements.
To collaborate with Lecturers and Assessors and members of the technical staff in undertaking the duties specified.
To supervise students in the control of food, beverages, resources, linen, cleaning materials and equipment.
To assist with the purchase of new small equipment.
To direct and guide students in a Realistic Working Environment, specifically in the still room and wash up areas, bar and reception.
Our ideal Hospitality Assistant should have the following skills and experience:
GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade C/4 or above
Previous hospitality experience
Knowledge in food safety standards
Time management skills, organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
