We are recruiting for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a well-regarded SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Cranleigh. This is a permanent role suited to someone who can build trust, set clear boundaries, and support pupils to succeed both academically and emotionally.
The Role
You will support students who may present with challenging behaviour, working closely with teaching staff to create a structured and positive learning environment. Your role will be key in helping pupils stay engaged, regulate their emotions, and develop confidence.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs
Apply consistent and effective behaviour management strategies
Support pupils in managing emotions and maintaining focus
Build strong, professional relationships with students
Assist in delivering lessons and adapting resources where required
Help maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
The Ideal Candidate
Experience supporting children or young people with behavioural needs
Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, resilient approach
Ability to remain consistent and patient in challenging situations
Good communication and teamwork skills
A genuine interest in supporting vulnerable learners
