Ongoing support throughout your assignment, with temp-to-perm opportunitiesProspero Teaching are working with supportive schools across the Birkenhead area who are seeking full-time Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) for long-term roles starting in February. These roles are ideal for candidates with experience supporting children with additional needs who are passionate about making a positive impact in the classroom.
The role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who require additional support, including children with SEND, SEMH or learning difficulties. You may provide support on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, helping pupils access the curriculum, manage behaviour and build confidence. Schools are looking for calm, patient and proactive LSAs who can build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
Responsibilities
Providing targeted 1:1 or small-group support
Supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH or additional learning needs
Assisting class teachers with lesson delivery and differentiation
Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
Supporting pupils' academic, social and emotional development
Maintaining a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
Working closely with SEND teams, pastoral staff and parents where requiredAbout the schools
Supportive leadership and experienced SEND teams
Strong focus on pupil well-being and inclusion
Well-resourced classrooms and specialist provisions
Easily accessible from Birkenhead, Wallasey, Bebington and surrounding Wirral areasThe ideal candidate
Experience supporting children with additional needs (essential)
Calm, patient and confident in managing challenging behaviour
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Reliable, proactive and committed to inclusion
Good understanding of safeguarding and education policiesSafeguarding
