Non- negotiable qualifications and experience required: - Educational Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 1-10 years of experience in project engineering, preferably within the marine or shipbuilding industry, supporting project delivery from concept through to completion.
- Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of marine engineering principles, shipbuilding processes, and the ability to understand and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Location Requirement: Candidates should either be South African residents currently living in the Netherlands or South Africans willing to relocate to the Netherlands.
- Fluency in Afrikaans (both written and spoken).
Beneficial requirements: - Project Coordination: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize competing demands within a project timeline.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve engineering and project issues as they arise, ensuring minimal disruption to the project schedule.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Technical Support: Assist the project team in addressing technical challenges, including engineering design reviews, analysis, and implementation of solutions. Ensure all technical documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers and other departments to ensure smooth execution of marine and shipbuilding projects, including tracking progress and maintaining schedules.
- Resource Management: Assist in the planning and allocation of resources, ensuring that engineering, materials, and personnel are properly deployed to meet project needs.
- Quality Control: Monitor project deliverables to ensure they meet the required quality standards and specifications, conducting inspections and resolving any quality issues that arise.
- Client and Stakeholder Communication: Support the communication with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth operations, timely delivery of materials, and alignment with project objectives.
