Non- negotiable qualifications and experience required: - Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 1-10 years of experience in combat systems engineering or a similar role within the defence or maritime industry.
- Solid understanding of military and naval combat systems, including radar, sonar, weapons control systems, and communications technology.
- Location Requirement: Candidates should either be South African residents currently living in the Netherlands or South Africans willing to relocate to the Netherlands.
- Fluency in Afrikaans (both written and spoken).
Beneficial requirements: - Experience with system integration and testing methodologies in complex environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to resolve system-related issues during critical project phases.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Combat Systems Integration: Design, integrate, and optimize complex combat systems, including radar, sonar, weapons control, and communication systems, to ensure interoperability within the overall naval platform.
- System Testing and Validation: Develop and execute test plans to validate the performance and functionality of combat systems, ensuring compliance with operational requirements and industry standards.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for combat systems during installation, commissioning, and operational phases, ensuring that systems meet performance and safety standards.
- Collaboration with Teams: Work closely with systems engineers, naval architects, and other stakeholders to ensure combat systems are effectively integrated into new or modified platforms.
- Continuous Improvement: Monitor system performance and suggest design enhancements or improvements based on feedback, testing results, and new technological developments in the field of naval combat systems.
