Non- negotiable qualifications and experience required: - Bachelors Degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 1-10 years of experience in system integration or testing in the maritime or shipbuilding industry.
- Fluency in Afrikaans (both written and spoken).
- Location Requirement: Candidates should either be South African residents currently living in the Netherlands or South Africans willing to relocate to the Netherlands.
Beneficial requirements: - Hands-on experience with shipboard systems such as propulsion, power distribution, navigation, and HVAC systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex system issues effectively.
Duties and responsibilities:
- System Integration: Integrate and configure complex ship systems, ensuring all components (mechanical, electrical, and control systems) function seamlessly together.
- Testing & Validation: Plan, execute, and document system and subsystem testing, ensuring all systems meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements before delivery.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues that arise during integration and testing phases, ensuring that systems are functioning to their specifications.
- Collaboration: Work closely with design, engineering, and quality assurance teams to ensure proper system integration and functionality during all project phases.
- Continuous Improvement: Analyze test results and feedback to suggest improvements to both system designs and testing processes, ensuring higher efficiency and reliability in future projects.
