Maintenance Mechanical Supervisor

Our client in the FMCG sector is looking for a Maintenance Mechanical Supervisor to join their team based in Port Elizabeth.
Duties & Responsibilities
Experience and Qualifications:
- Grade 12
- Diesel Mechanic Trade Test Certificate
- 3 - 5 years’ experience working as an artisan.
- Valid Driver’s Licence
- Own transport
- Knowledge of mechanical maintenance and related universal best practices.
- Knowledge of legislative and industry protocols and regulations that apply in maintenance.
Duties: - Regular inspections on equipment to identify hazards, defects or need for repair.
- Complete equipment checks sheets as per manufacturers' requirements.
- Capacity to take initiative on all projects.
- Complete projects in the expected time frame.
- Making schedules, assigning work and training employees.
- Motivate employees to increase their productivity and meet work goals.
- Ensure the proper maintenance of equipment, compliance with mechanical codes and adherence to safety regulations.
- Supervise junior team members.
- Responsible for mechanical systems installation, troubleshooting, repairs, and services as required.
- Design mechanical systems and equipment, as well as contribute to improved designs and manufacturing processes.
- Report to maintenance manager any incidents.
- Ensure good housekeeping.
- Attend to breakdowns.
- Ensure adequate inventory, prioritize purchases, prepare cost estimates, and document their purchases.
- Perform standby duties.
- Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools in a factory environment.
- Understanding of the OSH Act.
