Are you an Estimator with a background in construction, utilities, infrastructure or technical services looking to develop your commercial skill set with hands-on training and close support from an experienced Commercial Manager?
On offer is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established surveying, geospatial and digital data services business, where you will be properly supported as you take ownership of enquiries and build your capability in producing accurate, competitive quotations.
You will work closely with the Commercial Manager and wider teams across technical, operational and project delivery, learning how to translate technical requirements into clear scopes, robust cost build-ups and commercially sound proposals.
In this role you will manage multiple enquiries, clarify assumptions and exclusions with clients, identify commercial and delivery risks, maintain accurate pipeline information, and support handovers from quotation through to delivery.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Estimator looking for long-term development, increased responsibility, and clear progression within a growing business.
The Role:
Preparing accurate, commercially competitive quotations and estimates
Reviewing enquiries/specifications and defining scope, assumptions and exclusions
Building up project costs using supply-chain pricing and estimation models
Collaborating with internal technical/operations teams and liaising with clients
Hybrid role based from Chelmsford head office (40 hours, Monday-Friday)
The Person:
Proven experience producing quotations/estimates within technical services (construction/utilities/infrastructure/surveying or similar)
Strong numerical skills with sound commercial judgement around cost, margin and risk
Confident communicator, able to interpret technical requirements and manage multiple enquiries
