We are currently recruiting for an experienced Private Sector Housing Officer to support a busy local authority enforcement team in Norfolk
This is an excellent opportunity for an officer who can hit the ground running, managing a varied caseload of housing enforcement matters with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities

Undertake inspections of private sector residential properties.

Carry out HHSRS assessments, including knowledge of the latest HHSRS 2 guidance and principles.

Investigate housing complaints including damp and mould, excess cold, disrepair and other housing hazards.

Serve and enforce statutory notices under the Housing Act 2004.

Prepare evidence and case files to support enforcement action.

Conduct HMO inspections and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.

Liaise with landlords, tenants, managing agents and partner agencies.

Maintain accurate case records using the council's case management systems.
Essential Requirements

Previous experience working as a Private Sector Housing Officer, Environmental Health Officer or Housing Enforcement Officer.

Strong experience undertaking HHSRS inspections and assessments.

Experience serving notices, including Improvement Notices, Hazard Awareness Notices, Prohibition Orders and other Housing Act enforcement actions.

Ability to manage a busy caseload independently.

Excellent knowledge of housing legislation and enforcement procedures
