A local authority in Lincolnshire is looking to appoint an interim Housing Prevention Officer to join their team on an initial 6-month contract.
This role would suit someone who is confident working proactively with households at risk of homelessness and identifying realistic solutions to help prevent homelessness wherever possible.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing a caseload of households threatened with homelessness, with a strong focus on prevention
Carrying out detailed assessments to understand the cause of the housing issue and identify appropriate options
Producing and progressing Personalised Housing Plans (PHPs)
Negotiating with landlords, letting agents, family members and other parties to help sustain existing accommodation
Exploring alternative housing options, including the private rented sector, where remaining in the current accommodation isn't possible
Completing duty cover 2 days per week in the office, dealing with customers approaching the service for housing advice and assistanceWhat you'll need:
Recent experience working within Housing Options/Homelessness for a UK local authority
Strong knowledge of homelessness prevention and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017
Confident communication and negotiation skills
