Business Support Assistant
Howard James Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Business Support Assistant to join an established and growing business based in Wolverhampton.
This is a varied role working closely with the Managing Director, supporting the day-to-day running of the business and helping to keep tasks, projects and priorities on track.
It's an ideal opportunity for someone who is highly organised, proactive and enjoys taking responsibility and getting things done.
The Role
The successful candidate will provide a broad range of business and administrative support, including:

Supporting the Managing Director with workload, emails and priorities.

Managing and following up on actions and deadlines.

Preparing quotations and basic costings.

Liaising with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
-
Requesting and chasing information, prices and delivery dates.
-
Raising and tracking purchase orders.
-
Coordinating projects and keeping tasks on schedule.
-
Keeping colleagues updated on progress and outstanding actions.
-
Identifying and resolving issues where possible.
-
Maintaining accurate records and business information.
-
Helping to improve processes and ways of working.

Supporting the introduction of new systems and processes.

Taking ownership of routine tasks and responsibilities as your knowledge of the business develops.
About You
We're looking for someone who is organised, reliable and proactive, with a genuine desire to take ownership and see things through.
You'll be comfortable managing multiple priorities, working to deadlines and communicating with different people across a business.
You'll also need to be confident using your initiative, solving problems and working in a busy environment where priorities can change.
The ideal candidate will have:

Previous experience in administration, business support, coordination, operations, purchasing, account management or a similar role.

Excellent organisational and time-management skills.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Good attention to detail.

Good numerical skills and confidence working with figures.

Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Outlook.

The ability to learn new systems and software quickly.

A proactive approach and the confidence to work independently.
Experience with purchasing, stock, CRM/ERP systems, project management software
