A growing fire safety consultancy is looking to recruit an experienced Fire Risk Assessor to support projects across Swindon and the wider South West. The successful Fire Risk Assessor will work across a varied portfolio of residential, commercial and mixed-use properties, delivering detailed assessments and clear fire safety recommendations.
The Fire Risk Assessor's Role
The appointed Fire Risk Assessor will manage their own workload, carrying out site-based assessments and providing clients with practical advice to support ongoing compliance.
Key responsibilities will include:
Carrying out fire risk assessments across a range of premises
Identifying fire hazards and areas requiring remedial action
Assessing means of escape, fire doors, compartmentation and fire safety measures
Producing accurate and detailed assessment reports
Providing clear recommendations to clients and property teams
Reviewing fire safety documentation and existing arrangements
Liaising with building managers, contractors and other stakeholders
Travelling to sites across Swindon and surrounding areas
The Fire Risk Assessor
The successful Fire Risk Assessor will ideally have:
A recognised qualification in Fire Risk Assessment or Fire Safety
Previous experience completing fire risk assessments independently
Strong understanding of current fire safety legislation and guidance
Experience across residential and commercial buildings
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Confidence managing client relationships
Membership of the IFE, IFSM or another relevant professional body would be beneficial
A full UK driving licence
