HSE Officer
Location: Northampton
Salary: £32,000 per annum
Hours: Full Time, Permanent
Monday to Thursday 8:00am to 5:00pm | Friday 8:00am to 1:00pm
The Role
Interaction Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced HSE Officer to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Northampton.
This is a hands-on role focused on maintaining and improving Health, Safety and Environmental standards across manufacturing, warehouse and office operations. The successful candidate will work closely with site management to ensure compliance, promote a positive safety culture and support continuous improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
Conduct regular workplace inspections, audits and safety walks.
Create, review and maintain Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) and safety documentation.
Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
Support environmental compliance activities, including waste management and spill control measures.
Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks and employee awareness programmes.
Inspect and maintain safety equipment, emergency equipment and first aid provisions.
Maintain accurate HSE records, reports and compliance documentation.
Provide practical HSE guidance and support to managers, supervisors and employees.
Drive a proactive safety culture throughout the business.
Requirements
NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
Previous experience within a Health & Safety, HSE, SHEQ or EHS role.
Experience carrying out workplace inspections, audits and risk assessments.
Knowledge of accident investigation and corrective action processes.
Experience developing Safe Systems of Work and compliance documentation.
Understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation and best practice.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Confident using Microsoft Office packages.
Manufacturing, engineering, warehouse or industrial experience would be highly advantageous.
