The Role & About the Client
ITS Building People are currently recruiting for an experienced Heavy Plant Fitter to join a growing operation based in Hook, Hampshire. The successful candidate will work within an established engineering team, maintaining and repairing a large fleet of over 100 heavy machines.
The company currently has a strong team of fitters on its books and is looking to expand the team due to continued fleet growth. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled plant fitter to join a busy operation, working on a wide range of heavy machinery, including equipment weighing up to 50 tonnes.
Candidates with strong practical experience in heavy plant, construction equipment, agricultural machinery or similar mechanical engineering backgrounds would be well suited to this position.
Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
Servicing, maintaining and repairing heavy plant machinery
Working on 360 excavators, dumpers and diggers
Carrying out maintenance and repairs to demolition equipment
Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
Conducting planned preventative maintenance
Carrying out reactive breakdown repairs
Working on machinery weighing up to 50 tonnes
Ensuring all equipment is safe, reliable and operational
Maintaining and repairing a fleet of over 100 machines
Ensuring all work is completed safely and efficiently Requirements:
Relevant experience working as a Heavy Plant Fitter, Plant Engineer, Mechanical Fitter or similar
Strong practical experience repairing and maintaining heavy machinery
Experience working on construction plant, excavators, dumpers or similar equipment
Good mechanical fault-finding and repair skills
Hydraulic experience would be highly desirable
NVQ qualification is desirable but not essential
Ability to work independently and as part of an established team
Reliable, hardworking and safety-conscious approach
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 5:00pm (1 hour lunch)
