Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistants to work on a supply basis across a network of schools in the Sheffield area. This role involves supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a 1:1 basis and in small group settings, helping them to access learning and reach their full potential.
The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:
Provide tailored 1:1 support for pupils with a range of SEN needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs)
Support small groups of students with targeted interventions and classroom activities
Work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to implement support plans
Help manage behaviour positively and encourage engagement in learning
Adapt resources and approaches to meet individual learning needs
What We're Looking For
Experience working with children or young people (school-based experience desirable but not essential)
A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine interest in supporting pupils with additional needs
Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, care or youth work background) are advantageous
