Attendance & Admin Officer

- Hours: 8:00am - 4:00pm (Full-time)
- Pay: £100.00 - £130.00 per day (dependent on experience)
Premier Education are recruiting for an experienced Attendance & Admin Officer to work in a busy Oldham secondary school. This is a full-time, temporary position starting as soon as possible and continuing until July, covering staff sickness.
This is a varied and fast-paced role, combining both core administrative duties and responsibility for attendance processes. You will be a key part of the school's front office team, acting as the first point of contact for students, parents, staff and external visitors.
The role:
You will work closely with the Office Manager, Senior Leadership Team and wider school staff to support the smooth running of the school office, with a particular focus on attendance. Daily duties will include:
- Managing phone calls and responding to enquiries
- Monitoring attendance and following up on pupil absence
- Supporting with exclusions and suspension processes
- Using school systems to maintain accurate student records
- Supporting with general administrative tasks across the office
- Liaising with staff, parents and external agencies
- Providing a professional and welcoming front-of-house service
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous school administration experience (essential)
- Experience managing or supporting attendance processes within a school
- Experience using school systems such as SIMS, Arbor or Bromcom
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good ICT skills and attention to detail
- The ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
- GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent)
