Sue Ross Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client, a long‑established and highly respected professional services organisation, for an organised and proactive Office Administrator to join their Chesterfield-based team.
This is a key role at the heart of the business, supporting the smooth day‑to‑day running of the office and ensuring colleagues, visitors, and clients receive an exceptional experience. The position would ideally suit someone who thrives in a varied role, enjoys being the go-to support within an office environment, and takes pride in keeping operations running seamlessly.
Working closely with the wider administrative team, you will support the following core operational areas:
Front of House
- Acting as the first point of contact for visitors and callers
- Providing a warm, professional welcome to clients
- Managing meeting rooms, including set‑up and refreshments
- Handling incoming calls, mail and general enquiries
Facilities & Property Coordination
- Liaising with suppliers and contractors
- Assisting with maintenance schedules and property-related services
- Helping maintain a safe, compliant and professional office environment
General Administration
- Providing day‑to‑day administrative support including printing, scanning, binding and document preparation
- Managing office supplies, stationery, PPE and consumables
- Overseeing pool car bookings and basic vehicle checks
- Supporting travel coordination where required
- Assisting with CPD coordination in collaboration with the Training team
Health & Safety
- Acting as Fire Marshal and First Aider (training provided)
- Carrying out routine H&S checks and reporting
- Contributing to a safe and compliant workplace
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience within an administrative or office-based role
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication skills with a professional, approachable manner
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Calm under pressure, with the ability to manage a varied workload
- Cost-conscious and able to support budget awareness
This is a full-time, fully office based role, working 35 hours per week.
