We are looking for a proactive and detail‑oriented Accounts Assistant to support a range of financial processes and routine accounting tasks for an established company based on the outskirts of Chelmsford. This role is ideal for someone looking to build their finance experience in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Complete daily, weekly, and monthly financial and administrative tasks accurately and on time.
Process purchase invoices, sales invoices, staff expenses, and other transactional finance activities.
Support multi‑currency postings, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Assist with VAT returns, financial reporting, and preparation for month‑end and year‑end close.
Monitor shared mailboxes, managing queries and responding within agreed timeframes.
Maintain clear and up‑to‑date process documentation, suggesting improvements where appropriate.
Work closely with colleagues across the business to support efficient financial operations.About You:
Experience in a finance‑related role such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, or financial administration (1–2 years preferred).
AAT Level 3 (or equivalent) completed or in progress.
Confident using Microsoft Office; experience with SAP, Sage, or Power BI is an advantage.
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and strong time‑management skills.
Clear communicator with a positive, team‑focused approach.
