We’re looking for a Communications Assistant to join a friendly communications team for a 3-month contract while the organisation finalises its longer-term recruitment plans.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on communications work, writing engaging content, creating simple visuals, and supporting campaigns that connect with communities.
If you’re someone who can roll up your sleeves, write clearly, design simple but effective content, and keep things organised, we’d love to hear from you.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll support a busy communications team across a mix of customer and internal communications, including:
-
Writing clear, friendly copy for customer communications
-
Designing visual content and templates using Canva or Photoshop
-
Supporting customer campaigns and newsletters
-
Helping promote customer involvement opportunities
-
Assisting with internal staff communications and design requests
-
Providing hands-on support at occasional events
-
Expect a 50/50 mix of customer-facing and internal communications work, with plenty of variety.
What we’re looking for
This is an assistant-level role, so we’re looking for someone practical and proactive rather than overly corporate.
You’ll likely have:
-
Strong copywriting skills with an accessible, conversational tone
-
Experience using Canva or Photoshop for simple visual content
-
Great attention to detail
-
A positive, can-do attitude
-
The confidence to get stuck in and work independently when needed
This role would suit someone looking to build their communications experience, or someone with more experience who’s happy stepping into a hands-on support role.
The team:
You’ll work in a small, supportive team where collaboration is key. There will be a handover period with the current postholder, plus plenty of guidance to help you settle in
