We are currently supporting a large NHS organisation in the appointment of a senior Procurement/Category professional.
This role plays a key part in implementing the NHS LPP vision & strategy, approved by the NHS LPP Steering Board, and in delivering the aspiration of the Board to become a world- class procurement partner of choice for the NHS and the wider public sector. The postholder will need to have technical Estates Facilities & Corporate Services procurement and category management skills, along with proven commercial acumen.
This role will be key in supporting the Categories Director implement a Category Management methodology across the workstream in order to develop ambitious 3 - 5 year category strategies and category plans that anticipate as well as respond to external challenges, whilst meeting the requirements of stakeholders at a regional and national level to help both NHS LPP and members achieve their financial targets.
The role is key to driving savings and revenue generation activity as the category strategies and plans will be instrumental in maximising the uptake to NHS LPP contracts both regionally and nationally and in attracting new customers and associated Activity Based Income and incremental savings to meet NHS LPP Steering Board targets.
The role will require an ability to work alongside both external operational teams as well as board level management on a regional and national basis to drive collaboration and provide strategic Estates Facilities & Corporate Services procurement expertise.
Person Specification:

Member of Chartered Institute of Procurement, Degree or equivalent qualification within this specialist area.

Significant and demonstrated experience in a senior procurement and supply chain role.

Advanced supplier and contract negotiation experience. Managing supplier and stakeholder relationships.

Demonstrable experience in key components of the category management methodology in the production of best in class category strategies and plans, namely: determine business requirements, overview of current contracts, spend analysis & market analysis.

Demonstrable experience of delivery in leading large scale transformational change, cost reduction and procurement programmes. Substantial senior level experience in a complex programme management, procurement and supply chain environment.
