A supportive and forward-thinking specialist school in Reading is seeking a Mental Health Assistant to join their team full-time. This is a fantastic long-term opportunity for individuals looking to gain practical experience working with young people who require additional emotional and mental health support.
You will work with students who present with a range of needs including Autism, ADHD, anxiety, trauma-related needs, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges.
As a Mental Health Assistant, you will play a key role in helping pupils feel safe, understood, and ready to learn.
Key Details:
Role: Mental Health Assistant
- Location: Reading
- Salary: £89-£100 per day
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
- Start Date: ASAP
- Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term
- Ideal for: Psychology, Counselling, Criminology, or Education GraduatesYour responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 and small group emotional support
- Supporting pupils with emotional regulation strategies
- Assisting with behaviour management in a calm and consistent manner
- Working collaboratively with SEN staff and therapists
- Helping create a positive, structured learning environment
