We are supporting a specialist school in Reading that works with pupils with Autism, SEMH and additional behavioural needs. The school is seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to help students build confidence, manage emotions and engage positively with learning.
This is a hands-on, rewarding role where no two days are the same, and where you’ll make a genuine difference to young people who benefit from consistent support and positive role models.
The Role
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will:
• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils
• Support students with emotional regulation and behaviour strategies
• Help pupils remain engaged in learning and daily routines
• Work closely with teachers and pastoral teams
• Support a calm and structured learning environment
• Build positive and trusting relationships with students
We’d Love to Hear From Candidates With Backgrounds In:
• Youth work or mentoring
• Care or residential support
• SEMH or behaviour support roles
• Sports coaching / fitness / active roles
• Police, military or security
• Psychology or education graduates
Previous school experience is helpful but not essential — personality, resilience and attitude are key.
