Assistant Quantity Surveyor role:
We are seeking an ambitious Assistant / Quantity Surveyor with 2–3 years’ post-graduate experience to join a growing commercial team based in Birmingham, working on a diverse portfolio of construction projects across multiple sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Assisting with cost management duties throughout the project

Preparation of cost plans, budgets and tender documentation

Measurement and take-off from drawings

Assisting with subcontract procurement and package comparisons

Supporting interim valuations, final accounts and subcontractor payments

Assisting with the management of variations and change control

Supporting financial reporting, forecasting and cash flow

Working closely with site teams, supply chain partners and senior commercial staff
Key Requirements

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline

2–3 years’ experience in a commercial or quantity surveying role with a main contractor

Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills

Good commercial awareness and attention to detail

Confident communicator with the ability to work collaboratively

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel essential); experience with QS software is advantageous

Keen to learn, develop and progress within a commercial team
