Saturday Facilities Cleaner
Location: Stoke D’Abernon Cobham, Surrey, UK
Salary: £12.52 per hour
Vacancy Type: Permanent, Part Time
Hours: 3 hours - 7am until 10am preferably however we will allow flexibility on times. Additional hours may be available during school holidays and on an ad-hoc basis.
Purpose of the role
The Yehudi Menuhin School is looking for a Cleaner to work at the Menuhin Hall every Saturday and assist with cleaning and housekeeping in the main school buildings when required.
Job Specification/Key Areas of Responsibility
- Regularly clean all areas of the Menuhin Hall.
- Clean the kitchen and bar area when required.
- Clean/tidy auditorium.
- Wipe Clean the tables.
- Clean all of the toilets in the hall and change the toilet rolls when necessary.
- Hoover and clean the ground floor and upper foyer areas of the Hall.
- In the main school buildings, clean bedrooms, change bedding, cleaning staff and student accommodation and classrooms when requested.
Duties listed are not exhaustive; all members of staff are expected to undertake duties reasonably required by the Head.
Person Specification
Experience & Knowledge
- Previous experience in cleaning roles (commercial or domestic).
- Knowledge of safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations, including COSHH.
Skills & Abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to schedules.
- Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks (e.g. lifting, bending, standing for long periods).
Personal Qualities
- Reliable and punctual.
- Honest and trustworthy.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Respectful and professional when interacting with staff and visitors.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in a similar environment (e.g. schools, offices, healthcare).
- Basic knowledge of infection control procedures.
- Flexibility to work additional hours if required.
