Assistant Quantity Surveyor

An established, high-quality residential developer—known for delivering premium houses and contemporary apartment schemes across the Southeast—is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This opportunity is based on a brand-new development of 350 homes and apartments, offering long-term career progression within a supportive and well-structured environment.
Reporting directly to the Senior Project Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of the project, taking responsibility for procurement, cost control, valuations, and subcontractor management as the development progresses through multiple phases.
Key Responsibilities

Assist the Senior Project QS with cost planning, reporting, and financial management.

Support in tendering and procurement of subcontract packages.

Manage and assess subcontractor applications, variations, and payments.

Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and expenditure.

Liaise closely with site teams to ensure accurate commercial reporting.

Contribute to maintaining strong supply-chain relationships.
Requirements
-
2+ years’ experience working with a Residential Developer, Specialist Subcontractor, or Main Contractor.

Strong understanding of residential construction processes.

Good commercial awareness with the ability to work both independently and as part of a project team.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills.

A proactive approach and willingness to develop professionally.
