Residential Assistant Buyer(s) & Buyer(s) required ASAP
Position: Assistant Buyer(s) & Buyer(s)
Location: Northern Home Counties (office-based, 5 days per week)
Salary: £25,(Apply online only) – £65,(Apply online only) per annum (depending on experience)
These roles sit within the commercial team and involve working closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure efficient, timely, and cost-effective procurement across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
Conducting and assisting with take-offs and scheduling of materials and packages from drawings and specifications
Managing and supporting procurement processes, including issuing enquiries, tender analysis, and placing orders
Negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve best value
Liaising with design teams to manage design changes and update material schedules
Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, reliability, and timely delivery
Supporting cost reporting, budgeting, and forecasting within the commercial team
Identifying alternative suppliers and materials to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness
Requirements
Experience working as an Assistant Buyer or Buyer within residential construction or housebuilding
Strong understanding of procurement processes, material sourcing, and supply chain management
Good commercial awareness with strong organisational and analytical skills
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
Previous experience with a residential developer or housebuilder is highly desirable
