Hours: Monday–Thursday 07:00–15:30, Friday 07:00–14:00

A well-established engineering company based in Alfreton is seeking Engineering Operatives to join their growing team in either their Machining or Blending departments. These roles offer hands-on, practical experience within precision engineering, with full training provided for the right candidates. Duties – Manual Machining Pathway
Key Responsibilities:

Operate manual lathes and other workshop machinery (training provided)

Read and interpret technical engineering drawings

Use measurement tools such as micrometers and verniers
-
Work with a range of materials to produce precision components
Requirements:

Previous experience or exposure to manual lathes is desired

Ability to understand engineering drawings
-
Confidence using measuring tools (micrometers/verniers desirable)

Willingness to learn and develop new workshop skills
Duties – Profile Blending Pathway
Key Responsibilities:
-
Operate abrasive belt machines to blend and finish metal components
-
Inspect finished parts for quality and consistency
-
Maintain a clean and safe working environment

Support wider production processes as required
Requirements:
-
Experience using abrasive belt machines or similar equipment is desirable

Previous blending or finishing of turbine/engine blades beneficial
-
Excellent attention to detail and a steady hand
-
A team-focused attitude and willingness to learn
