Adept Resourcing are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well established manufacturing business, for a reliable and hands-on Furnace Operative to join their Forge operations team.

Salary & Shift Pattern
Basic salary: £32,692.92
Shift allowance: +30%
Total annual earnings: £42,500.79
Shift pattern: 4 on / 4 off
2 × 12-hour day shifts
followed by 2 × 12-hour night shifts
The Opportunity
Working within the Forge, you will be responsible for the operation and monitoring of heat treatment and heat-to-forge furnaces, ensuring materials are processed safely, efficiently and in line with technical requirements.
You will also support wider forge activities such as material handling, crane work and assisting other departments as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Adhering to technical instructions to ensure material compliance.
Programming and monitoring furnace control systems.
Recording data on SFDC and technical process computers.
Operating overhead cab cranes for material movement.
Driving FLT and Sideloader.
Managing safe receipt and despatch of material.
Supporting forge operations including slinging.
Carrying out pre-start checks and generating STOP cards.
Maintaining housekeeping and contributing to 5S improvements.
Assisting heat treatment in Conditioning when required.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Desirable:
5 GCSEs A-C or equivalent relevant industrial experience.
Experience in a forge, furnace, heat treatment or heavy industrial setting.
Strong commitment to safety and quality.
Experience contributing to improvement activities.
Personal Qualities:
A strong team player willing to share knowledge.
Takes accountability and pride in work.
Excellent discipline, timekeeping and attendance.
