We are recruiting a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join their finance team. The role reports directly to a qualified Financial Controller, providing excellent exposure and mentorship.
Role Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including balance sheet reconciliations and profit and loss statements.
- Support the preparation of year-end financial statements and liaise with external auditors.
- Manage and process supplier invoices, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes, providing financial analysis and insights.
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts, ensuring all transactions are accounted for.
- Assist with VAT returns and other statutory compliance requirements.
Person Specification
- AAT qualified or working towards an accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Previous experience in an accounting role, with strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across teams.
- A proactive and adaptable approach, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.

This permanent position offers a salary of 30,000- 32,000, with the flexibility of hybrid working (2-3 days in the office per week). The office is located in Sheffield, with excellent transport links and parking.
