IT & Facilities Officer | 12-month fixed-term contract
Are you an approachable IT support professional who enjoys solving problems, supporting colleagues and making technology work better for everyone?
We’re recruiting an IT & Facilities Officer to provide day-to-day technical support and help maintain an efficient, well-equipped working environment. This is a varied role combining practical IT troubleshooting, coordination with an external IT provider and responsibility for office facilities.
The role
You’ll be the first point of contact for colleagues with IT queries, resolving common issues and ensuring more complex problems are escalated and followed through to resolution.
Your responsibilities will include:
-
Providing support for laptops, printers, peripherals, video conferencing and everyday software issues.
-
Supporting colleagues with Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, Teams and SharePoint.
-
Working closely with the external IT provider, coordinating support requests and monitoring progress.
-
Coordinating new starter and leaver processes, including laptop preparation, account access, IT inductions and equipment returns.
-
Supporting hardware and software rollouts and maintaining accurate IT equipment records.
-
Developing straightforward user guides and delivering training to help colleagues use technology confidently.
-
Promoting cyber security best practice and identifying opportunities to improve systems and working processes.
-
Coordinating office maintenance, external suppliers and workplace services, alongside supporting health and safety activities.
What we’re looking for
You’ll have previous experience providing IT support, with the confidence to troubleshoot common technical problems and explain solutions clearly to colleagues with different levels of IT knowledge.
We’re particularly interested in someone who brings:
-
Good practical knowledge of Microsoft 365 and basic IT administration, such as printer setup and user account settings.
-
A methodical approach to problem-solving, with ownership of issues from initial query through to resolution.
-
Strong communication and customer service skills, with a patient, approachable manner.
-
The ability to build effective relationships with external IT providers, suppliers and colleagues.
-
Good organisation and attention to detail, with the flexibility to manage competing priorities.
-
A willingness to take on the wider facilities responsibilities and complete training in first aid, fire safety and workstation assessments.
If you enjoy being the person colleagues turn to for practical support and want a role where you can make a visible difference, we’d like to hear from you
