Assistant Estimator
Location: London
Salary: £35,000-£50,000 (dependent on experience)
I'm currently working with a leading specialist construction contractor who is looking to recruit an Assistant Estimator to join their growing Pre-Construction team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to move into estimating from either a site-based or commercial background, with the chance to develop their skills within a specialist construction environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with preparing cost estimates and tender submissions.
Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
Carry out quantity take-offs and measurements.
Obtain and review subcontractor and supplier quotations.
Assist with pricing materials, labour, plant and equipment.
Support the preparation of bills of quantities.
Liaise with site teams, suppliers and subcontractors.
Work alongside Senior Estimators throughout the tender process.
Requirements:
Experience within construction, ideally from a site-based or commercial background.
Previous experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, Quantity Surveyor, Site Engineer or Site Manager would be beneficial.
Good understanding of construction methods and processes.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Strong numerical and organisational skills.
A genuine interest in developing a career within estimating.
The Opportunity:
An excellent opportunity to move into a pre-construction role with an established specialist contractor, gaining exposure to major projects across reinforced concrete frames, cut and carve and civil engineering.
Full support and development will be provided to help the successful candidate progress within estimating.
If you're working in a site or commercial role and considering a move into estimating, I'd be keen to have a conversation.
