Forklift Driver – Temp to Perm

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:00am–4:30pm, Friday, 7:30am–4:00pm
Prime Appointments are recruiting for a Forklift Driver / Yard Operative to join a busy timber merchant in Witham. This is a Temp to Perm opportunity offering £13.50 per hour, with the potential to secure a permanent position.
This role would suit an experienced Forklift Driver or Yard Operative who is confident operating a Counterbalance Forklift and is happy working in a hands-on, busy yard environment. Experience working with timber, building materials or within a warehouse or distribution environment would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities of the Forklift Driver:
Operating a Counterbalance Forklift to move timber and other materials around the yard.
Loading and unloading delivery vehicles safely.
Picking, preparing and checking customer orders.
Moving and stacking timber products safely and efficiently.
Assisting customers and colleagues with the movement of materials where required.
Maintaining a clean, tidy and organised yard.
Following health and safety procedures at all times.
Supporting the wider team with general yard and warehouse duties.
Requirements:
A valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence is essential.
Previous experience as a Forklift Driver, Yard Operative or Warehouse Operative.
Bendi Forklift experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
Comfortable with physical, hands-on work, including outdoor duties.
Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Own transport is essential due to the location and working hours.
Pay and Benefits:
£13.50 per hour.
Monday to Friday working pattern.
No weekend working required as part of the advertised hours.
