We are looking for someone with recent, hands-on local authority Council Tax billing experience who can hit the ground running, confidently manage a busy caseload and deliver accurate, compliant billing services with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities

Process changes in liability, account amendments and billing adjustments.
Assess and determine applications for Council Tax discounts, exemptions, disregards and reductions.
Maintain accurate customer records, verify information and update relevant systems.
Respond professionally to resident enquiries via telephone, email and written correspondence.
Apply Council Tax legislation and local reduction schemes when determining liability and entitlement.
Manage competing priorities and high-volume workloads while meeting service targets and deadlines.
Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders to resolve enquiries and support effective service delivery.
Essential Requirements
To be considered, applicants must demonstrate:
Recent experience working within a local authority Council Tax Billing or Revenues team.
Practical experience using MRI Revenues & Benefits (formerly Academy).
Strong working knowledge of Council Tax legislation, billing procedures and liability determination.
Experience processing discounts, exemptions, disregards and Council Tax Reduction applications.
Excellent accuracy, organisation and attention to detail.
Ability to manage high-volume workloads and meet demanding deadlines.
Strong customer service, communication and IT skills.
GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above, or proven equivalent literacy and numeracy skills.
