I'm recruiting on behalf of a client who is looking to appoint a Compliance Officer.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail and an interest in sales quality, customer outcomes and regulatory compliance. Working closely with the Head of Risk and Compliance and the wider management team, you'll play an important role in ensuring sales and customer service activity meets the required standards and follows the correct procedures.
You'll be responsible for reviewing calls, assessing sales activity, identifying areas of concern and helping the business maintain high standards across its operations. You'll also have the opportunity to influence improvements by highlighting trends, sharing feedback and working with colleagues to address any issues identified.
The Role
Reviewing sales journeys and customer interactions to ensure they meet internal procedures, quality standards and relevant regulatory requirements.
Carrying out quality checks on Business Development Managers, assessing their performance against agreed criteria.
Monitoring sales and customer service calls, providing fair, accurate and constructive feedback.
Identifying and documenting potential compliance breaches, conduct concerns and weaknesses in existing processes, escalating these where necessary.
Maintaining clear assessment records and preparing reports on findings, recurring issues, emerging risks and opportunities for improvement.
Working with managers and operational teams to address issues and put appropriate corrective actions in place.
Helping to improve quality assurance processes, assessment methods and internal controls.
Sharing findings with the relevant teams to support coaching, training and ongoing development.
Keeping up to date with company policies, regulatory changes and expectations affecting sales and customer service activities.
About You
We're looking for someone who is analytical, organised and confident in making objective assessments. You'll be comfortable reviewing information in detail, identifying where standards have not been met and explaining your findings clearly to others.
Ideally, you'll bring:
Experience in compliance, quality assurance, sales, customer service or another relevant role.
An understanding of how to assess calls, customer interactions or business processes against set standards.
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage your workload and meet deadlines.
Good analytical skills and the ability to recognise patterns, identify risks and recommend practical solutions.
Excellent communication skills, particularly when providing feedback or discussing areas for improvement.
The confidence to raise concerns professionally and escalate issues when appropriate.
A fair, consistent and professional approach to decision-making.
The ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels.
A proactive attitude towards learning, development and keeping up with relevant regulatory requirements.
