Personal developmentDuties for the role of Town Planner:
Preparing and coordinating planning applications, planning statements, reports and supporting documentation
Undertaking site appraisals, planning policy reviews and assessments of development potential
Advising clients on planning strategy, policy requirements and potential development constraints
Supporting the promotion of land through the local plan process and contributing to planning appeals where required
Liaising with local planning authorities, clients, consultants and other key stakeholders
Coordinating with multidisciplinary colleagues to develop practical, commercially viable planning solutionRequirements for the role of Town Planner:
A degree or postgraduate qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline
Experience in a planning consultancy, local authority or similar planning environment
A sound understanding of the UK planning system, planning policy and development management
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, well-structured reports
Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
A proactive, commercially aware approach to problem-solving
Confidence working collaboratively with colleagues, clients and external stakeholders
