We are recruiting for a Plant Operator to join our client’s team within a specialist manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with manufacturing or production experience who is looking to develop their skills within a hands-on plant operation role.
The Role
As a Plant Operator, you will play an important role in the safe and efficient manufacture, drying and packing of materials. Working as part of a small team, you will help ensure production targets are achieved, quality standards are maintained and all health, safety and environmental procedures are followed.
Key Responsibilities

Operate plant and equipment safely and efficiently.

Manufacture, dry and pack materials in line with production requirements.

Take production samples for quality control testing.

Maintain accurate production records and documentation.

Follow health, safety and environmental procedures, including the safe handling of potentially hazardous materials.

Maintain high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping.

Work closely with colleagues and management to meet production deadlines.

Identify opportunities to improve production processes and efficiency.

Support other departments when required.
Essential Requirements

At least four GCSEs at grade C or equivalent, or 1–2 years’ experience in chemical manufacturing or a similar industry.

Good written and spoken English.

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.

An understanding of working safely with chemicals and potentially hazardous materials.

A strong focus on health, safety and following procedures.

Good time management and the ability to prioritise tasks under pressure.

A positive, flexible and team-focused attitude.

The ability to work independently when required.

Excellent attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
Desirable Experience
Physical Requirements
This is a hands-on, plant-based role involving standing, walking, operating equipment and handling materials. Candidates must be comfortable working in a production environment, wearing the required PPE and following strict safety procedures.
The role may involve lifting or moving weights of 25kg or more with assistance.
