We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Newly Qualified Solicitor to join a busy and growing Commercial Property Department.
Working closely with the Head of Commercial Property, you will handle a varied caseload for landlords, tenants, property investors, businesses, companies and private clients.
The work will cover a broad range of commercial property matters, including freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, commercial leases, landlord and tenant matters, property finance and property management across office, industrial, retail and agricultural sectors.
This is an excellent opportunity for an NQ Solicitor to develop their technical expertise, take ownership of their own matters with appropriate support and supervision, and build long-term client relationships within a supportive and commercially focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage a varied commercial property caseload from initial instruction through to completion, with appropriate supervision.
• Handle commercial property acquisitions and disposals, including freehold and leasehold transactions.
• Advise on landlord and tenant matters, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial leases, licences, assignments, underleases and renewals.
• Assist with property finance transactions, acting for borrowers and lenders where appropriate.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial property documents.
• Prepare reports on title and provide clear, practical advice on legal and commercial issues.
• Deal with Land Registry applications, registrations, post-completion requirements and Stamp Duty Land Tax returns.
• Liaise with clients, estate agents, lenders, surveyors, accountants and other professional advisers.
• Maintain regular communication with clients, ensuring they understand the progress of their matters and any relevant legal or commercial risks.
• Manage files effectively, meeting key deadlines, transaction timetables and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure compliance with firm procedures, SRA requirements, anti-money laundering obligations and other relevant legislation.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across other departments, including Corporate, Property Litigation and Private Client.
• Maintain existing client relationships and contribute to client retention and business development.
• Attend networking events and identify opportunities to develop new business and promote the firm's services.
