The Logistics Planner will drive the smooth execution of all inbound operations by managing the flow of goods, data, and documentation from suppliers to delivery. As the Logistics Planner you will serve as the primary contact for inbound logistics, this role maintains full visibility of shipments, prioritises urgent freight, and swiftly resolves discrepancies to ensure an uninterrupted supply chain.
Reporting to the Global Logistics Manager, the key areas of responsibility for the Logistics Planner include -
- Manage the inbound flow: You will coordinate shipments coming into the site, keep an eye on arrival schedules, and work with freight partners to keep everything moving smoothly.
- Keep systems accurate: You will handle EU and Asia invoice tagging, FRED creation, and ensure physical freight perfectly matches our digital tracking records.
- Troubleshoot delivery issues: You will be the go-to person for fixing shipping errors—like missing parts, wrong prices, or quantity discrepancies—by working closely with our buying teams.
- Solve problems: You will team up with Buyers, DC Operations, and Finance to fix shipping errors, correct pricing mistakes, and ensure our inventory systems match reality.
- Keep teams connected: You will act as the bridge between Supply Planning and the warehouse, making sure everyone knows which shipments are urgent and what risks to look out for.
- Support the process: You will keep shipment tracking data up to date, champion standardised processes, and find ways to make our daily inbound operations smoother.
- Analyse and track costs: You will help the Logistics Manager watch the budget by tracking freight fees, building simple performance dashboards, and spotting cost trends that need action.
The Logistics Planner will be based in Bridgnorth, Shropshire, we are looking for candidates that have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in inbound logistics or closely related role in supply chain.
Experience of ERP systems and confident user of Excel whilst working within a multi SKU environment is required
