Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the school's SEND provision, ensuring all pupils receive appropriate support and intervention.
Oversee the implementation, monitoring, and review of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Work closely with teachers and support staff to develop inclusive teaching practices and effective interventions.
Provide guidance, training, and support to staff regarding SEND strategies and best practice.
Coordinate annual reviews, assessments, referrals, and communication with external agencies.
Monitor the progress of pupils with SEND and ensure support plans are effective and outcome-focused.
Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and professionals to ensure a collaborative approach to pupil support.
Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and relevant statutory requirements.
Contribute to whole-school improvement initiatives, promoting an inclusive culture across the school.
Manage and deploy SEND resources effectively to maximise pupil outcomes.
Candidate Profile
National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) qualification, or willingness to work towards it.
Previous experience working within a SENCO or SEND leadership role.
Excellent knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice, EHCP processes, and safeguarding requirements.
Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
Experience liaising with parents, carers, local authorities, and external professionals.
A proactive, solution-focused approach with a genuine passion for inclusive education.
Ability to lead, inspire, and support colleagues in delivering high-quality SEND provision.
Holds, or is willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS check and provide professional references.
