Are you an experienced Practice Bookkeeper looking to work with a sophisticated client portfolio in a highly respected accountancy firm? 3-6 years of accountancy practice experience required.
Our client is seeking a professional and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join their established team, supporting a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, sole traders and professional service clients. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building long-term client relationships and delivering a first-class service within a specialist accountancy environment.
The Opportunity
Working closely with clients and accountants, you will take ownership of bookkeeping responsibilities across a varied portfolio, ensuring records are maintained to the highest standard and providing a seamless service to discerning clients who expect accuracy, professionalism and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
Managing day-to-day bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients
Processing invoices, payments, receipts and financial transactions
Preparing and submitting VAT returns accurately and on time
Reconciling accounts and identifying discrepancies
Maintaining accurate records using cloud-based accounting software, primarily Xero
Supporting Accountants and Client Managers with year-end account preparation
Building strong relationships with clients and acting as a trusted point of contact
Delivering a proactive and professional service at all timesAbout You
To be considered, you will have:
A minimum of 5 years' bookkeeping experience within an accountancy practice
Strong experience managing bookkeeping for sole traders and owner-managed businesses
A thorough understanding of VAT and reconciliations
Experience using Xero, with additional Sage or CCH knowledge beneficial
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Outstanding communication skills and a client-focused approach
