Our client operates within the Defence, Security, Automotive and Manufacturing sectors, delivering precision-engineered products and naval technology for global customers. The Paint Shop is seeking a Painter to support the production of high-quality painted parts for sensor and enclosure systems. This permanent role is suited to someone with experience in industrial paint processes, with trainee development and progression opportunities also available.
Key Responsibilities:
Applying primer and finish coats to a high standard in line with process instructions and Manufacturer Technical Data Sheet guidelines
Preparing, masking, flatting and demasking components for painting and final inspection
Reading drawings and understanding painting and masking requirements
Inspecting completed work to ensure that film thickness, gloss levels and overall quality meet the required standards
Completing paint mix records and ensuring accurate MRP bookings and time records
Working with stove enamel, two-pack epoxy, polyurethane and acrylic paint systems
Maintaining spray booths, flattening booths, ovens and associated equipment in a clean and safe condition
Supporting colleagues with the movement of items and undertaking other production tasks as required
Job Requirements:
Experience in industrial painting, paint preparation and related manufacturing processes
Ability to prepare parts to a high standard before final painting
Knowledge of paint schemes, mixing ratios, film thicknesses and gloss levels
Ability to read and understand technical drawings for masking and painting requirements
Understanding of Manufacturer Safety Data Sheets and safe working practices in a hazardous environment
Strong inspection and quality control skills, with excellent attention to detail
Ability to concentrate on small components for extended periods
Basic computer skills and the ability to maintain accurate production records
Good knowledge of joinery-related preparation or component finishing would be advantageous
Previous Ministry of Defence or similar regulated manufacturing experience would be beneficial
