Armstrong Knight is recruiting a Compliance Officer for a growing financial services business operating within the secured lending market.
Working closely with the Head of Compliance, you will take on a varied role spanning compliance monitoring, regulatory guidance, complaints and risk management. You will help strengthen controls, support colleagues and ensure fair outcomes for customers.
This opportunity would suit a financial services compliance professional who enjoys investigating issues, providing practical advice and working collaboratively across a business. Experience in mortgages or secured lending would be particularly valuable.
The role
Your responsibilities will include:

Investigating customer complaints and preparing clear, comprehensive responses.

Liaising with the Financial Ombudsman Service on referred complaints.

Providing regulatory advice and guidance to frontline colleagues.

Conducting thematic reviews, customer file audits and call reviews.

Supporting reviews of policies, procedures and internal controls.

Preparing compliance monitoring reports and maintaining conduct and compliance management information.

Helping identify and investigate potential fraud, money laundering and suspicious activity.

Supporting regulatory reporting, colleague training and incident and breach management.

Contributing to the development of the Risk Management Framework and maintenance of the Risk Register.
What we are looking for

Compliance experience within financial services.

A sound understanding of the FCA regulatory framework.

Strong complaint-handling, investigative and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels.

Strong organisation, attention to detail and a proactive approach.

Confidence working independently and as part of a team.
Mortgage or secured lending experience is preferred. Exposure to first or second-charge mortgages would be advantageous.
