About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Composite Laminator to join a leading aerospace manufacturing business in Hertfordshire. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a quality-driven production environment, supporting the manufacture of high-performance composite components using industry-standard processes and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare tooling for composite manufacturing, including cleaning tools and applying release agents.
Carry out material kitting and lay-up activities, ensuring the correct build sequence, orientation, and specification requirements are met.
Cut composite materials and prepare kits for production builds.
Apply knowledge of warp and weft orientation during lay-up processes.
Perform vacuum bagging operations and manufacture breather bag material kits.
Operate autoclaves, ovens, vacuum pumps, and associated equipment in line with approved engineering methods and processes.
Support cure operations while maintaining product quality and process compliance.
Follow quality procedures and manufacturing instructions to ensure regulatory and customer requirements are met.
Adhere to all company health and safety policies and safe working practices.
Attend daily shift briefings to review production targets, quality updates, and key business communications.
Identify, report, and escalate manufacturing, quality, or process issues to Team Leaders in a timely manner.
Contribute to continuous improvement and maintain a clean, organised work environment.
Requirements
Previous experience within composite laminating, composite manufacturing, or aerospace production.
Experience with pre-preg materials, lay-up, and vacuum bagging techniques.
Ability to interpret manufacturing instructions and engineering processes.
Understanding of composite curing processes and associated equipment.
Knowledge of material shelf-life control would be advantageous.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
